Thailand Post has halted all parcel shipments to the United States following President Donald Trump’s decision to eliminate the de minimis tax exemption, effective August 29, 2025. The move affects millions of parcels daily, raising shipping costs and causing potential delays.
The de minimis rule previously allowed duty-free imports up to US$800, supporting cross-border e-commerce. With its removal, small businesses and online sellers now face higher customs duties and longer processing times.
Thailand Post confirmed the suspension started on August 22, 2025, and will remain until further notice.
