Bael Fruit Matoom

Bael fruit or Indian bael has a scientific name Aegle marmelos or Matoom (มะตูม) in Thai language is an indigenous tree fruit species of the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Bael is a perennial crop in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Cambodia, Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries. Bael is a sacred tree in India. Bael trees are found in the gardens of many Indian Hindu temples.

The ripe fruit, which contains a delicious pulp, is the most valuable part of the Bael tree. People consume Bael mainly as fresh fruit. However, the value added products of Bael such as beverages, traditional sweets, jam and pudding are available in the market. People prefer Bael fruit mainly because of its rich taste. Bael fruit tea recipe

? Rinse the bael in water for a short time. Roast the bael in a pan on low heat to give the bael its aroma. Boil water with bael (1 cup per piece). After boiling, add sugar to taste and boil for another 5 minutes. Turn off the gas and set aside to cool. Strain through a cloth or metal strainer to remove any remaining small particles and leave the tea clear. Serve in glasses, ready to drink. Pour into a lidded jug and store in the refrigerator. Bael tea will keep in the refrigerator for several days.
